Seems like a risky way to go about it--sure, you could crack into a phone, but why? The Linksys FXO adapters are inexpensive and connect to the Valcom using a standard rj11 cable.
And I'm not quite sure what you mean by "cannot external page at opposite ends".

Re: My first few thoughts
I had a user--someone who has been with the company for at least 6 years--call the helpdesk last week because he couldn't log in. He had been on vacation for a week, and had forgotten...no, you're giving him too much credit...his username. He was trying to log into our domain using his Gmail ID. Cal...

Re: Wireless Headset ?
We've got a number of Plantronics wireless headsets hooked to 9212s and 9224s and they work great, no lifter needed. Anything new should support picking up a line and hanging up directly from the headset.

Re: Overhead paging-Local and Remote
We took our first paging site live this week--works great. The paging amp is 400 miles away from the 48X. Let's see an old fashion PBX do that...

Remote Generic SIP Devices
Anyone tried this out? I've had no problem getting generic SIP devices like Linksys analog adapters working inside the network. And I've had no problem getting them working outside our network directly to one of our ITSP's (as long as a SIP Application Layer Gateway is running on the remote router)....

My first few thoughts
We've been live for a week now, and just brought 7 remote branches online last night. Figured I'd throw some of my desired enhancements out here and see what people thought. 1. If calling an internal extension, and that person is on another line, show something on the caller's phone to indicate it. ...

What can I do with the Call Assistant software?
We moved our corporate HQ from a 3Com NBX to Allworx. We're actually migrating all sites, but HQ was the only site with a phone system from this century. The NBX had a dialer/caller ID program that wasn't too polished, but it worked. It showed a pop up with caller ID, and let a user either drag a ph...

Re: Overhead paging-Local and Remote
This thread has a lot of views and no answers, so I thought I'd provide what I learned. Hopefully others can make use of it. This was written for one of our installers (we put two 48x's in this week), in case the wording seems strange. [b]Setting up Paging through a Valcom V-200x Paging adapter and ...

Overhead paging-Local and Remote
First post for me--we're going to start an Allworx rollout next week. We're going to be doing a mix of locations with 48x servers and locations with just phones connected to the WAN hanging off of a remote 48x. We've got overhead paging, typically with either a Valcom 2001A or 2003A paging adapter, ...
