Can anyone explain this message from the system event log on our 6x ?

tSip: SIP: Resending ACK (0x365e79c) for INVITE/480 OK (0x35bddf4) on dialog:0x366d0dc

I have the word 'INVITE' set to autonotify since we were hacked in Feb (just to see the attempts denied as untrusted).

Thanks

Hi JK:

An INVITE is only sent when a call is being setup. Basically when a user picks up a phone and dials a number; it can be an internal extension or external number.

It looks like the ACK is being sent for the SIP message 480 (number unavailable).

Not seeing the rest of the log, it looks like a caller dialed a number that was not recognized as being valid (by the local carriers switch) or the local carrier received the "temporarily out of service" result from the far-end carrier.

Again without seeing the full log and/or SIP trace, it's hard to tell what else may have been going on.

You should have seen additional messages near that sequence that showed a number that was dialed and rejected with the 480 error code.

I hope this helps.
