Re: Dozens of Allworx systems froze last night
We've been taken down 3 times in the past month; didn't really start putting two and two together until today's outage and we realized it was most likely a DoS attack. We are rolling out the latest patch on Wednesday to all 4 of our systems, but I want to do a little preventative work as well. If an...

Re: Generate an email when a phone is called
jgn1013, I'm just starting to get active on the forum again. I'll see if I can get the code packaged up and posted somewhere.

Re: SMS Notification
I'm assuming that you are using each providers email-to-sms gateway address (send an email to an address, and it gets sent as a text to the phone)? One "outside of the system" option may be to use a transcription service like phonetag.com. I used to use it--I *think* it had a delivery opti...

Re: Call forwarding
I only get in here once a week or so, but it looks like you found the answer. You're correct--your provider does have to support SIP Redirect. None of the providers I've worked with in the past charged extra for it--but that might be that they just included the feature by default with my accounts (i...

Re: Call forwarding
What type of inbound and outbound phone service are you using? If you're using a T1 or analog lines, I don't believe it can be changed. If you are using SIP trunks, there is an option in the Trunk setup to support a SIP Redirect, which maintains caller ID of the original caller.

Re: Allworx 6X and AT&T SIP trunks
SIP *should* be SIP. Allworx does a great job with SIP trunking. Ironically, IP Office, not so much.

Re: Analog Handset config for Credit Card Terminal
We never had any luck getting a credit card terminal going through SIP. Tried a number of different configs, both with analog adapters and into the analog ports on the 48x, but ultimately had to piggy back off the fax machine POTS line.

Re: Account Code Entry?
What we wound up doing was having the users press # when they were on a call that we needed to track. Our CDR database is able to look for this in the digits field, and notify the ITSP.

We've had good luck with the Linksys SPA line...but not so much with fax machines.

Re: CallAssistant won't connect
I've never tried to track down the specifics of it, but Call Assistant winds up connecting to the phone of the signed in user, not just the Allworx server. If you are connected, and you reboot your phone, Call Assistant dies. Based on this, I'd say that if your phone is on a network not accessible t...
